Jet's notes: Okay, so this page is just a little thing I like to call 'my slightly unhealthy obsession with Logan Echolls' page. I think my husband said it best when this season of Veronica Mars started, and I went on and on about how upset I was that I didn't get to see the whole Logan/Veronica relationship play out.
He said, "You were too emotionally invested in it anyway."
My reply was, "I still am!"
So this page is just me commenting on and basically going on about the show 'Veronica Mars' and Logan's story line in the show. There will be no actual stories in this section. (So feel free to ignore this whole thing). It will have spoilers for every episode. I hope some of you will read this and start watching the show, and maybe even buy the first season on DVD. It's a great show.
Short overview of the show: Veronica is a high school student. Her father used to be the respected sheriff of Neptune California, but now he is a private investigator. About a year earlier, Veronica's best friend Lilly was killed. Then a few months later Veronica was drugged and raped at a big party, but she doesn't know who did it. Veronica's father, Keith, kept trying to prove that Lilly's father was the actual killer, but no one believed him, and then someone else confessed to the murder. But Veronica and Keith don't actually believe that the person who confessed killed her. A month after Keith lost his job, Veronica's mom left without a word. Logan was Lily's boyfriend, and used to be Veronica's friend too. Veronica used to date Lily's brother, Duncan. Duncan and Logan are best friends. A few months before Lily's murder Duncan broke up with Veronica unexpectedly, and right before Lily was killed she told Veronica that she had a secret. Another important character is Wallace. He is Veronica's only friend in school. He is new to the school in the pilot. And the last important character is Eli 'Weevil' who looks too old to be in high school. He is the leader of a biker gang, and hates every rich kid in school.
Pilot: Logan is a complete asshole, and we hate him. Veronica calls him a "psychotic jackass" and she's pretty much right. He taunts her with her mom being gone. She sets him up to get suspended. He bashes the lights on her car with a crowbar.
Credit Where Credit's Due: This one has Paris Hilton, so I'd like to pretend it didn't happen. But unfortunately Paris plays the part of Logan's new girlfriend (Barf). Weevil gets accused of credit card fraud by the Echolls family. Veronica thinks Logan did it, and tries to prove it. But instead finds out one of Weevil's cousins did it because he was also sleeping with Paris and he was trying to impress her with the money. (So she plays a skanky whore? What a shock!) Logan finds out about it, and tries to beat up Weevil's cousin, but Weevil convinces him to let his biker gang do it instead. Logan tells everyone at school that Paris was two timing him, and then all the rich kids shun her. Logan and Veronica exchange snarky comments every time they see each other.
Meet John Smith: Logan isn't in this one much, except to be an ass a few times and put Veronica down in front of Duncan.
The Wrath of Con: The first chink in Logan's ass persona. Duncan's parents are donating a fountain in memorial of Lily, and have decided to do a video tribute at the unveiling. Duncan has a bunch of videos but can't bring himself to make the tape. Logan insists on doing it for him. We see a flashback of Duncan, Lily, Logan, and Veronica all going to a dance together in a limo. They are all having fun together, and stop at the beach to play truth or dare and a drinking game. Lily is the wildest of the four of them, and seems to be what they all have in common. The four of them stay out all night, and have the time of their lives. Then back in present time, we see Veronica in school. She hears Lily's voice and goes to see where it's coming from. She sees Logan looking at the videos trying to make a compilation tape. He notices her and mentions that Lily would be pissed at the video he's making, because they make Lily out to look like a nice sweet girl. But that Lily's bitch of a mom who never really liked Lily all that much would love the tape he's making. But all he has to work with are the videos Duncan gave him. Later in the show Veronica gives him a tape that she had of Lily. Then at the memorial they play the tape, and it shows Lily being a little wild, but having fun too. Lily's mom is obviously upset. Logan and Veronica share a smile, and Weevil leaves the memorial crying.
You Think You Know Somebody: Logan isn't in this one much, but he and Veronica are slightly less mean to each other.
Return Of the Kane: We first get to meet Logan's parents. His father is supposed to be a famous actor, and I think his mom is a trophy wife of some kind. Logan and his friends have set up an amateur boxing thing, where he pays homeless men to fight out in the middle of nowhere, and his friends can make bets about it. It shows Logan trying to recruit a homeless guy, and he is his usual ass self putting the guy down when the guy refuses. Logan and his friends find other guys, and have the boxing night anyway. Then another day at school Logan finds out from one of his friends, that someone caught Logan watching the fight on video. It's all over the internet that a movie star's son is making homeless people box for fun, and Logan looks scared. Later Logan gets home late, sneaking in. His father is waiting for him. His father shoves him down onto a couch and tells him he better never embarrass the family again, and that tomorrow he will be getting his first lesson in public relations. Logan says nothing
. Which is odd for him. The next day Logan's dad Aaron drives them both to a homeless shelter where Aaron will hold a press conference. Aaron plans to have the press take a few pictures of Logan helping feed the homeless, and then Logan is to apologize publicly for what he had done. (And by the way, we can tell that Aaron doesn't give a crap about homeless people, just his good reputation). At the homeless shelter Aaron and Logan both talk to the reporters. Logan apologizes, and Aaron tells them that while Logan made some mistakes, he's still a good kid. They hug for the cameras, and then as Logan pulls away he tells the reporters that he 'just can't keep it to himself' because he is so proud of his dad. He tells the reporters that his dad is donating half a million dollars to the Neptune food bank. Aaron is shocked and unhappy, but quickly covers it with a smile. The we immediately cut to Logan looking at a closet and picking out a belt. Then it cuts to him handing the belt to his dad who looks to be in an office of some sort. As Aaron closes the door, we see Logan from behind taking off his shirt. No words are spoken and we get the impression that this has happened more then once. A few seconds later we hear the distinct sound of belt hitting flesh more then once, and then we see Logan's mother sitting outside of the room drinking. That's the last we see of Logan in this episode. Now you all know what I write, but I have to tell you that this scene turned my stomach. I didn't sleep well that night after seeing it, and I couldn't write anything on any of my stories for like a week. It was just so wrong and abusive. After this episode I couldn't hate Logan anymore.
The Girl Next Door: The vice principal talks to Logan about a pair of boots that his father promised to donate to the school. They were apparently worn in one of Aaron's movies, and the school plans to sell them to the highest bidder and buy a new scoreboard with the profits. Logan says he'll bring it up to his dad. Later Logan and Weevil are in class together. Weevil might be looking at Logan's paper while they are taking a test, and Logan calls him on it. They both exchange insults, and the teacher gives them both a zero. Then Logan insults the teacher which Weevil finds funny, so they both get detention for a week. In detention they both exchange insults again, but also play poker to pass the time. Later when Weevil is with one of his friends we find out that Weevil had something going with Lilly Kane also. Again in detention the boys have to wash the teachers car, and do other meaningless tasks. Eventually the boys come up with a plan to get back at the teacher for the detention. The next day the teacher finds his car apparently disassembled, and then rebuilt around the school's flagpole. The VP calls Weevil into his office, and says someone saw Weevil do it, and that Weevil will get suspended. But when Weevil won't give up the name of the person who helped him, he gets expelled instead. Logan finds out about this from Duncan. The next day Logan goes to the VP and says he's pissed that Weevil is getting all the credit for the car stunt. The VP gets angry and says if Logan is confessing, then he is in big trouble. Logan puts his feet on the VP's desk. He is wearing his father's boots that the VP wants, and Logan says something like, "What kind of punishment did you have in mind?". Later it shows the VP telling Logan and Weevil that they are getting off easy. He indicates a wall full of graffiti that they have to paint. So apparently Logan made a deal with the boots and got Weevil back in school. Then as they are painting Logan notices that Weevil has a tattoo of a heart with the name Lilly in it. Logan gets upset, and eventually Weevil says it's his sister's name. (Yeah, right.)
Like A Virgin: Logan isn't in this one. Boo! Hiss!
Drinking the Kool-Aid: No Logan again! Awful! But I have to say the show is well put together and even entertaining even without him
. Just not as good as it could be.
An Echolls Family Christmas: Logan, Duncan, Weevil, and a few other guys are playing poker close to Christmas time. By the end of the game, we find out that Weevil has won the jackpot, but when they go to get the $5,000, they find it is missing. Weevil makes all the other guys strip so he can see there is no money on them, and then tells them he will get his money one way or another before he leaves. The next day we find out that Weevil has stolen Duncan's laptop in payment, and Duncan wants it back. Veronica decides to help him since it has some old personal stuff about her on the laptop. Most of the show is Veronica going to the various players and trying to find out what happened. There are also many flashbacks to the game. And there is lots of Logan, so it's all good. For a while Duncan thinks maybe Logan did take the money, and they have a bit of a fight. Duncan accuses Logan of turning into a real jerk little by little, and Logan makes jokes but later looks hurt. By the end of the episode they make up.
In this episode there is a whole side plot that is important. Logan's mom hires Keith to investigate some threatening notes that Aaron has received. Keith thinks they are from a woman Aaron jilted. When Keith confronts Aaron about that, Aaron tells Keith he is faithful to his wife. We later find out that Aaron is full of shit about that, and basically cheats on his wife all the time, and he's mean to the women he cheats with. In the end of the episode one of the women gets back at Aaron by stabbing him in the abdomen right in the middle of a holiday party.
Silence Of the Lamb: No Logan again! Bad, Bad, Bad!
Clash of the Tritons: In this episode Veronica puts a bug in the student counselor's office, and ends up hearing quite a few things. Logan is back, and lots of people in school are teasing him about his father cheating on his mother, and some people are telling him his mother is hot. He doesn't take it well. After being dragged away from a fight, we see Aaron coming out of the principal's office where Logan is waiting for him. They have some unpleasant words, and Aaron says they have to come back for a disciplinary meeting on Friday. Later Logan is in the counselor's office, and Veronica is listening to their conversation in her car. Logan says that he and Lilly would have been celebrating their second anniversary the week she died. But he said they were often on again/ off again in those two years. And when she died they were off again. Veronica had seen Logan kissing another girl, and she had told Lilly about it, which in turn made Lilly break up with Logan. So Logan has lots of people to blame for Lilly's death. He blames himself for being a jerk and kissing someone else, he blames Veronica for telling Lilly about the kiss, and he blames Lilly for being a bitch that week. He thinks if he had been with Lilly, that she wouldn't be dead. The counselor points out that he could be dead too, and he says something like "And what's so great about living?" (Awww
.Poor Logan!) Later we see Logan and his mom, Lynn, sitting outside the principal's office waiting for the disciplinary meeting, and Aaron walks up. He has found out that his wife has been leaking things to the press about him and his infidelity ever since he was stabbed. They fight, and Aaron threatens to divorce her and leave her with nothing. Logan can't take it and yells at his father that if he says one more thing, he will kill him. He sounds convincing, and his father actually backs down. His mother leaves upset. The last scene of the show is her empty car on a bridge. We are supposed to assume Lynn jumped.
Lord of the Bling: In this one we see a flashback to the girl Logan kissed when he was still with Lilly. We see Aaron upset over his wife's death. Aaron tries to bring up a happy memory to Logan, who says he remembers Aaron giving him a bloody nose that day. Aaron says something like it was somewhat of an accident. They talk about Logan's sister who is in another country doing a movie and can't get home for the funeral. Aaron tries to get Logan to see that they need to be a team now, but Logan isn't having any of it, and blames Aaron for his mother's death. Later at the Echolls' house after the funeral Duncan goes to find Logan. Logan is in his room playing video games. Duncan thinks this is odd. Logan tells Duncan that he doesn't actually think his mother is dead. He thinks she just 'escaped'. Logan explains that he found the cigarette lighter that his mother always kept with her, because it was from her father. But the night before she supposedly killed herself she left it on her nightstand. Logan takes this to mean she just left and faked her own death because she hated her life with Aaron so much. At the very end of the episode Logan ends up on Veronica's doorstep, and he swallows his pride and asks her to help him find his mother.
Mars vs. Mars: We see Logan still at Veronica's doorstep, and his emotions are in the forefront. He tells Veronica he doesn't believe his mother is dead because her credit cards are gone, and because he doesn't think that is the way she would kill herself. Veronica agrees to help him even though there is a woman who says she saw Logan's mom jump. The next day we find out that Veronica has put some kind of APB out for Lynn's credit cards, and she will interview the witness. Logan insists on going too, even though Veronica is against it. Later Veronica and Logan meet at the police station and wait until the supposed witness comes out. Logan wants to confront the woman, but Veronica holds him back and tells him to wait. Veronica has a guy pretending to be a newspaper reporter in the hall, and Veronica and Logan listen on headphones to the conversation. The woman is quite willing to sell the guy whatever story he wants, making her claim to have seen Lynn jump obviously not true. Logan hears this and explodes. He confronts her, yells, calls her names, and basically tells her off. Later a different woman comes forward to say she saw Lynn get into a van on the bridge. Veronica stets up an interview, and Logan sits nearby so he can hear. It turns out that the woman is really an obsessive fan of movie star Aaron, and her story is not believable. Logan stalks out of the room obviously in emotional turmoil. The next day in school Weevil comes up to Veronica and tells her he knows of a freshman that says he has proof that Lynn killed herself. Later Weevil has captured the freshman and made him bring the proof for Veronica and Logan to see. The freshman says he and his buddies were making a home movie right by the bridge the day Lynn went missing. He shows them the tape, and way in the background we see a human figure fall from the bridge to the water. Veronica is visibly upset. Weevil threatens the freshman to make sure he doesn't show anyone the tape. Logan just stands there not being able to breathe. Veronica tells him she's sorry. Logan almost sounds like he's crying as he leaves the room. But just as he's walking out Veronica gets a text message. She calls to Logan to wait a minute, and then tells him his mother's credit card was just used.
Ruskie Business: My favorite episode!! At school Veronica tells Logan that the credit card was used to rent a car, and it's the only credit card that is still under Lynn's maiden name. Veronica thinks that's extra proof that she's trying to hide. Logan actually thanks Veronica for helping him, and he looks uncomfortable but sincere when he does it. He even squeezes her arm to let her know how much it means to him. She smiles at him and says she know how it is (because her mom is missing too). Very sweet scene, and the nicest we've seen Logan since the show started. Then later Veronica gets another text message saying the credit card was used at an upscale Hotel. She calls Logan and leaves him a message that someone used the card and where. The next time we see Logan he's sitting in the lobby of the hotel, and Veronica comes in. Logan and Veronica pretend to be a couple, which is quite funny, and ask the clerk about a certain room. They ask to see it, but the clerk says no. They ask to call up there, but the clerk says the woman who is there was very specific that she didn't want to be bothered, and they find the room even has a private elevator. Logan and Veronica go back to the lobby couch to talk. She suggests getting the maintenance guys to let them up, but Logan says he will just sit there on the couch until his mom comes down. Veronica leaves him there to do some other detective work. A long while later she comes back to the hotel, and sees Logan still there. Veronica says she's going to smoke Lynn out. She calls and reports Lynn's card stolen. A short while later we see someone in a black dress and hat coming out of the private elevator. Logan jumps up and runs to her. He has a tentative smile and says, "Mom?" A woman turns around and takes off her sunglasses. (It's Willow from Buffy!) The woman turns out to be Logan's half sister Trina (they have the same father.) She says, "Did you just call me mom? You know mom's gone right?" Logan is less then happy to see her and asks her why she isn't on location somewhere shooting a bad movie. She says it didn't work out. Then she notices Veronica in the background and says hi to her too. She asks if Veronica and Logan are a couple, but you can tell she doesn't really care, and in fact is enjoying tormenting Logan. Logan yells at her to shut up. Logan says their Dad really could have used her support right after Lynn died. Trina doesn't understand why Logan cares about the 'big bad wolf' since he hates their father. Veronica is slightly behind Logan and can't see his face. He silently mouths 'no' to his sister kind of begging her not to go on. She gleefully continues talking about cigarette burns and broken noses and laughs "Oh the stories you used to tell." Veronica is obviously surprised by this revelation. Logan cuts her off and ends the conversation by saying it was nice to see her and they should get together more often. She then says she will see him more often, because she's moving back home for now. He says something unpleasant to her, and she replies with something equally as unpleasant. Veronica stands between them, and gets Logan to walk away. As soon as they are out of Trina's line of sight, Logan breaks down and starts to cry. A very uncomfortable Veronica gives him an awkward hug to comfort him. (I watched that scene more then once. It was very well done.) The next time we see Logan he is at the high school dance that has an 80's theme. Veronica is there with her date (a young cop who is still too old for her in my opinion). Logan is very drunk, and is dressed like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. He gets up on stage, and interrupts a slow dance to yell at everyone to 'Wang Chung' or he'll kick their asses. He has some anger issues. Then Veronica and her cop date try to get Logan's keys away from him so he wont drive. Logan seems to find this amusing. Then Trina shows up. Someone called her to let her know Logan was wasted again. She says it's like she never left. She leads him to her car, and he says he'll only go if he can puke in her car, and she tells him of course, because it will be just like old times. That's the last we see of Logan in this episode. So heartbreaking.
Betty and Veronica: No Logan!! How can they show us no Logan after such a sad episode??
Kanes and Able's: Not much Logan, but he does show up at Veronica's Dad's office. He sees her laptop on the desk and takes a look at it while she is otherwise occupied. She sees him looking and quickly closes it. But he's already seen that she's investigating Lilly's death. He wonders what Lilly would think of her investigating everyone who loved her, and Veronica reminds him that she loved Lilly too. Logan doesn't say anything mean about this, but does comment that he is glad he has a rock solid alibi of being out of town. He gives her a sincere thank you and a check for all the work she did trying to find his mother. She smiles and rips up the check telling him that Lynn was always nice to her. He smiles and leaves. A day or so later Veronica accosts Logan in the school hallway and pulls him into a room to talk. She asks him when he's going to tell everyone about her investigation. He doesn't say, but instead asks her about something he found out when he was reading the files on her computer. He asks her if Duncan really has epilepsy. She says yes, and that it can manifest itself in fits of laughter, tears, or rage. Then Logan recounts a time when he saw Duncan screaming and trying to strangle his father. This was close to the time when Lilly was killed. Then Logan looks kind of guilty for telling her.
Weapons of Class Destruction: Okay, this is my second favorite episode as far as the Logan storyline goes. We see Veronica, Duncan, and Logan in school, all being fairly nice to each other. A little later Duncan confronts Veronica, and tells her that Logan told him about her investigation about Lilly's death. He is upset and guesses that she considers him to be the most likely suspect. In another plot line, Veronica is helping out the vice-principal by investigating a bomb threat to the school. She has been tailing a new student who seems suspicious, and is in her car when she sees him loading up suspicious looking supplies. As she's sitting in her car watching the guy, Logan calls her to confess that he told Duncan about the files. Veronica asks him if he's seen Duncan since school was over, but before she can hear his reply, the guy she's been tailing suddenly gets in her passenger side door. She screams and puts the phone down but doesn't hang up. The guy is holding a gun to her head and tells her to go a specific hotel. She drives there. As the guy is walking her up the stairs to his hotel room, Logan comes out from behind the side of the building and punches the guy. He the guy is down, and Logan punches him a few times. Veronica gets the guys ID, and then tells Logan to stop. The guy is some kind of undercover agent. Soon they are all in the hotel room, and Logan is rubbing his hand while the guy holds an ice bag to his face. The guy wants to talk to Veronica alone, and Logan gets all protective saying no way. (A 'knight in shining armor' moment. Yummy.) Veronica gets Logan to go out so she can talk to the guy alone, and finds that he wants her help on the case he's working. When she leaves the hotel room Logan is waiting for her, and asks if she's okay. She is, and then she gives him this little thank you peck of a kiss on his lips. Then they both just stand there not quite believing it happened. Then he pulls her in for a real kiss. They pull away a little breathless and then Veronica leaves. With both of them unsure what it all meant. (I know it's not quite right that's what I meant by 'unhealthy obsession' earlier, but I watched that kiss like ten times. It was so hot! And I don't even think the guy who plays Logan is all that cute.) Later they see each other in class, and Logan gives her a questioning look, but they don't talk.
Hot Dogs: Third favorite episode for Logan storyline. In school again Logan and Veronica talk about Duncan who has taken a lot of money out of an account and run away. They very pointedly don't talk about the kiss, even though they are both thinking about it
.. (Or was that just me?) Later we see Logan's dad Aaron at home reading. His daughter Trina comes over to him and asks him to do an independent movie for her boyfriend. Aaron says no. Logan makes mean little comments to Aaron, and Aaron just smiles tolerantly instead of taking off his belt. There is a knock on the door, and we find that a lawyer has arrived. He is telling Aaron and the kids about Lynn's will. Lynn changed it a week or two before her suicide. She took Aaron out, and left everything to Logan. We also find she left nothing to Trina in either will. Later on we see Trina in the kitchen. Logan walks by, and after exchanging insults Trina asks Logan for a loan. She says she borrowed it from her boyfriend and can't pay him back, and that he's all over her about it. Logan makes a rude comment, and Trina gives up, walking away angry. (such a well-adjusted family). Later at night Logan is in the kitchen and Trina comes home with an obvious limp. Logan tries to engage her with snippy comments, but she ignores him. He asks her what happened, and she says nothing. He takes off her large sunglasses (which she's wearing at night) to see a black eye. Logan gets angry and asks her if her boyfriend did it, and what is the guys last name. Trina points out that he didn't care about her problems before and not to be wishy washy because it's unattractive in a guy. The next day Logan goes to Veronica and asks her to get the name of Trina's boyfriend so he can kick his ass for beating up his sister. Veronica says she'll help. Back at Logan's house we see Aaron walk by as Trina is putting makeup over her black eye. He asks if she's okay, and says she can talk to him about things. She tries to convince him to do her boyfriend's movie and says that financing is a problem. He agrees to do it, but only if he can meet the guy first. Back with Logan, Veronica has found the guys name. Logan calls his house, and gets a hold of Aaron. Aaron says he is making dinner for Trina's boyfriend to hear about the new movie they are doing. Logan makes rude comments, and before he can tell his father what the guy did to Trina, Aaron hangs up. Back at the house Aaron is out back barbecuing, when Trina and her boyfriend arrive. The boyfriend tells Aaron what the movie is about. Aaron says it sounds a lot like his father. He goes on to say that his father used to beat him and his mother. He said his mother used to walk around the house with dark glasses and lots of makeup to cover up what had happened. He said once he tried to stop his dad, but his dad burned him with a cigarette. Then he proceeds to beat the crap out of the boyfriend. Trina tells him to stop, but it's not happening. Aaron uses quite a few things to beat the guy down with, and ends up using his belt on him. As he's finishing up Logan and Veronica arrive on the scene. Aaron looks up and asks Logan how school was. Then Aaron tells Logan he's not taking the part, and could Logan please help the boyfriend to his car. Logan smiles because he apparently agrees with what his father has just done. Then we see the boyfriend's car drive off, and Logan and Veronica are alone together. Logan and Veronica talk about Lilly, and one thing leads to another. Soon they are making out again. Mmmm
very nice. She asks what they're doing, but neither one of them knows. They kiss again, and then she tells him until they figure out what they're doing, they should keep it a secret. He agrees, and then drives her home.
M.A.D.: At school Veronica is having car trouble. She's trying to fix it while Logan and his two buddies look on. The two buddies make jokes about Veronica within her hearing. Logan gives them a halfhearted plea to stop. Veronica fixes her car, and that shuts the teasing up all by itself. Logan gives her a look of admiration, and they share a look before Logan and his buddies leave. Later in school Logan and Veronica meet in the girls bathroom where they make out hot and heavy. It is soooo good. Eventually they both have to get to class though, and they both agree to keep their relationship quiet, especially to Duncan. Later after school, Logan takes Veronica to his house saying his father and sister are both out. They make out on the couch and talk on and off. But before things can go any further Aaron walks in. Both kids jump apart, and Aaron smiles and decides to leave them alone for a while. Logan is embarrassed that his dad caught them, but it doesn't stop him from wanting more. Veronica goes to use the bathroom. When she's there, the doorbell rings. She steps out and peeks around the corner to see Aaron letting in Logan's buddies from school. She stays hidden, and Logan makes lame excuses to his friends as to why he couldn't go surfing with them. One guy sees Veronica's purse and asks Logan if he has a chick over. Logan says it's Trina's purse. Aaron catches on and says he'll take the purse to 'Trina'. Logan gives him a surprised half smile and hands it over. Then Logan and his buddies sit down to talk about their annual trip to Mexico for surfing and easy chicks. (Bleck). Aaron offers to drive Veronica home, and she accepts. On the way home Aaron tells Veronica he is happy that she's with Logan. He says Logan has been difficult since Lilly's death, but that when Logan is with her he seems better. Veronica seems pleased by this. The next day Logan invites her on an actual date. He says they can both skip school, and take his father's boat out on the water. He says they can have dinner and a movie too. She eventually agrees. Then as she is working on another case, she finds out that on the night she was drugged and raped (way back before the shows events actually happened) Logan was the one handing out the drugs to people. She doesn't show up for their date, and it shows Logan sitting alone on his father's boat waiting.
A Trip to the Dentist: At school Logan tries to talk to Veronica but she avoids him. Logan and Weevil face off about both being involved with Lilly, and then they both tell the other to leave Veronica alone. After school Logan goes to Veronica's house to talk. She opens the door, and he wants her to tell her what he did so he can explain. She wants him to explain how he was the one handing out drugs at the party last year when she was drugged and raped. He looks shocked and kind of sick. He says, "You were raped?" Then he tells her he brought the drugs to 'have some fun' but not like that. He asks what he can do to make it better, but she says she's going to find out who did it to her and she is going to make them pay even if it was him. She shuts the door in his face. She spends most of this episode looking for who raped her, and we get many flashbacks to the party where it was supposed to happen. Later we see Logan coming home from school. Aaron is there cooking crab for dinner. Aaron is all excited about it, but Logan points out that he is allergic to shellfish. Aaron pretends that he thought it was Trina who was allergic. Logan goes on about how his father knows nothing about him. Aaron says he knows plenty. Logan calls him on that and asks him when his birthday is. Aaron guesses February, and Logan tells him he got a vowel right. Aaron looses his temper and grabs Logan's arm. Aaron tries to calm himself and tells Logan he's trying, and shouldn't that count for something. Logan tells him that when Logan turns 18, and gets the money from his mothers will, that he is out of there. Veronica finds out that it was Duncan who was with her that night, but that he didn't rape her, they just had sex that she didn't remember because she was drugged. That night we see Logan over at Veronica's house. She tells him everything, and tells him she's sorry she accused him. He tells her it's okay, and that he's just glad she's okay. Then we see Logan and Veronica walking to Logan's door. He comments on the house being dark and thinks Aaron is going to make them eat by candlelight. They start kissing as they come through the door. As they are still kissing the lights go on, and Aaron yells "Surprise!" Logan and Veronica jump apart and there in front of them are half the kids from school including Logan's asshole buddies, and Duncan. After a few seconds of everyone being silent, and Logan and Veronica looking shocked and nervous, Logan holds out his hand for Veronica, and she takes it (how sweet). Logan's buddy puts Veronica down, and Logan loudly tells everyone there that if they have a problem with 'his girlfriend' Veronica, then they can just leave. The only one to leave is Duncan. Logan tries to talk to him as he's walking out the door, saying he was going to tell him, but Duncan avoids him. They mingle a bit at the party, and then Logan slips out leading Veronica with him. He takes them to the pool house to make out. As they start making out, Logan tells her he has a confession to make. He eventually tells her he drugged Duncan the night of the party too because Duncan had told him to stop messing around with a mostly passed out Veronica. Veronica forgives him saying he couldn't have known what would happen. Logan is happy that she has forgiven him, and says he would like a drink. She agrees, and he goes to get one. But the key to the liquor cabinet breaks off, and Logan leaves to get another. Veronica lies on the bed and looks up at the fan while waiting. As she lies there, she notices a wire going from the fan, and disappearing into a different cabinet. She walks over and opens the cabinet to reveal a TV and VCR. She sees that the ceiling fan has a small camera in it, and she can see herself on the TV when she goes back to stand on the bed. The next scene is Veronica leaving the party with Weevil. She must have dashed out and called him to come get her. I thought that was kind of crappy of her after Logan just confessed to her. She has some trust issues but I suppose they are justified for the most part.
Leave it to Beaver: The last show of season one. And if you're reading this, and think you might be interested in seeing the show, then don't read any further until you've bought the DVD and watched it, because I give away the big surprise ending to the entire season. All season Veronica is trying to find out who killed Lilly Kane, and in this episode she finds out who did it. So with that warning, here we go. In school Veronica avoids Logan and they don't talk. Later one of Logan's buddies comes up to Veronica to confess something. He found out that the guy who was in jail for killing Lilly now has an airtight alibi, and now he's feeling that he has to tell someone the truth about that day. He tells Veronica that him and his brother told police that Logan was with them in Mexico during the time of Lilly's death, but that in reality Logan was really upset over Lilly dumping him, so he went home early to confront her. Veronica tells her father about this, and tells him that Logan's buddy also told her that Logan bought Lilly a shot glass in Mexico. Keith says the shot glass was found in Lilly's car at the time of death. (At this point I was sooo worried that they were going to have Logan as the killer, and he wouldn't be in season two.) Back in school, Veronica actually seeks Logan out. Logan is snippy with her, but I think it's justified since she left without a word last episode, and then avoided him for a few days. She says she just got weirded out about their relationship because of Duncan and Lilly. She says she needs a few days, and Logan accepts this. He kisses her head and leaves. Once he's out of range, Veronica calls her dad and they talk about the fact they think it's possible Logan killed Lilly. When she hangs up, she sees Weevil come out from behind a door. He heard the whole thing and says something about rich people getting away with anything. Meanwhile Keith tells the local cops what he has learned, and they get a warrant for Logan's arrest. They show up at Aaron's house and search Logan's room for any evidence. Back at school Logan is leaving for the day, and Weevil is tailing him with a lead pipe up his sleeve. But before Weevil can hit him with the pipe, the cops show up and arrest Logan. Next we see the sheriff failing to intimidate Logan at the local police department. He asks for his one call, and the sheriff agrees. Logan calls Veronica and asks her to get him out of there. She agrees. Then Logan hangs up and the sheriff laughs at him. The sheriff tells Logan that it was Veronica's information that got Logan arrested in the first place. Poor Logan! He looks so sad to hear that. A little later Keith calls the sheriff to ask what he has found out. The answer is not much, and they let Logan go for lack of evidence. He also tells Keith he thinks Logan and Veronica are dating. Keith isn't happy. He then finds that Veronica is out walking the dog. Then we see Veronica on the beach with her dog. Logan shows up and confronts her. He asks if they're broken up. She doesn't know what to say. He says she should feel guilty about accusing him. She gets nervous and says she'll sick the dog on him. He gets down on his knees and pets the dog. The dog is sweet and licks him. He goes into a story about how he loved Lilly even though she didn't love him, and how he would never have hurt her. Before Veronica can answer, Keith arrives and yells at Logan to get away from his daughter. Logan leaves and Keith hugs Veronica. He asks if she and Logan are dating, and she says 'Not anymore.' Later Veronica remembers something about Lilly, and decides that if she had anything good to hide, it would be in the air vent in her bedroom. She goes to the Kane estate during a big party, and pretends to be one of the help. She goes to Lilly's room, and starts to open the air conditioning vent. Then Duncan walks in on her. She tells him she thinks Logan killed Lilly. They both look in the air vent, and find some tapes. Veronica plays them to see Lilly sleeping with Aaron. That's right you heard me. Aaron, Logan's father, was sleeping with Lilly who Logan had been dating for about two years. Gross! Veronica knows now that Aaron is the killer. She has seen him being violent before, he has cheated on his wife before, and Lilly was hiding these tapes from him. Duncan says Aaron is there at the party with his folks. Veronica says she'll take the tapes to her father while Duncan distracts Aaron. A little bit later we see Veronica driving to see her dad. After she talks to him, and tells him what is up, she tries to call Logan. He doesn't answer. Then as she hangs up she sees that Aaron is in her back seat! Scary. In the end Aaron is caught, and the tapes go to the police. But when Veronica calls Logan we see his cell phone in the car where he's not answering it. He's standing on the railing of the bridge where his mother jumped drinking from a flask. As he's standing there Weevil and his biker gang drive up. Logan gives them a smile and says, "What do you think you can do to me?" I think that line is perfect. Weevil says with menace "I'll think of something." Then Logan does a move that looks to me like Neo in The Matrix. Logan puts one hand over his head and then puts the other arm out straight, and beckons Weevil to come at him with a smile on his face. And THAT is the last scene we have of Logan in this season!! What the hell!! They can't leave it like that can they? Well they did. Oh and just to tease us, they have Veronica opening her door to someone. She says, "I was hoping it was you." But we never get to see who it is.
SEASON TWO
Normal is the Watchword: The new season starts. In this episode we find out it was Logan at her door. He has been badly beaten, and passes out as soon as she opens the door. We find out that one of the biker gang is dead by a knife wound. Logan doesn't remember stabbing the guy, but he was getting the crap beat out of him. Logan lays on Veronica's couch, with his upper half kind of in her lap. She starts to tell him what he found out about Aaron, but Logan says he knows. It was all over the news. Logan's close to tears, which I think is understandable. He loved Lilly, and she was screwing his abusive ass of a father behind his back. Then the police come and arrest Logan for murdering the biker gang member. Most of this episode takes place three months after that night. We find out that Logan and Veronica dated most of the summer. Logan was tried for murder, and found not guilty. Then he had to go to summer school to make up the school he had missed. Veronica stuck by him, and even went to have lunch with him 'every day'. But while Logan and Veronica have been dating, emotions in town have been running high between the rich upper class and the not so rich lower class. In fact Veronica slowly comes to see that Logan is actually making things worse by doing mean things to the lower class like wrecking the public pool. She breaks up with him. He doesn't take it well. He smashes a lamp and says the only person he cares about is giving up on him. Keith makes Logan leave. (Okay now I can see this happening. I really can. Logan was an ass before he was with Veronica, and even if he's nice to her now, he would still be an ass to others, and Veronica wouldn't deal well with that after a while. But the thing that upsets me is that I wanted to SEE that. I wanted to watch them happy and going out, and then see Logan continue to disappoint Veronica with his behavior. So I feel like I got gypped.) In the end we see that after Veronica breaks up with Logan she then turns to Duncan, and they become a couple. I don't really like them together. We find out that Logan and Duncan no longer speak, and they used to be best friends. We find out Logan is sleeping with his friends stepmother. Oh, and we find out that this season's mystery will be a school bus crash that killed some students and one teacher. Logan wasn't on the bus, but right before it left, he did say 'I'm gonna miss you.' to Veronica who was supposed to be on it.
Driver Ed: We see Logan sleeping with his friend's stepmother again (and it's Cordelia from Buffy). His two friends are going to be in this season a lot, so I guess I should give their names. Logan's friend is Dick, and Dick's younger brother is Cassidy whose nickname is Beaver. (Yeah, Dick and Beaver. LOL). We see Logan at the shooting range with Dick, and Dick's father who apparently doesn't know Logan's sleeping with his wife. Later in the episode Veronica decides to sleep with Duncan for the first time (or you know, for the first time that she'll be able to remember). And if you ask me the scene of them together was pretty much the opposite of hot. When they're done, Veronica is sneaking out to get home. She gets outside of his door, and sees Logan coming out of another room. They look at each other for a minute, and then Logan says something is different about her (Obviously assuming she and Duncan have done it as I'm sure Logan knows that is where Duncan is living right now). Then he gets close to her and says, "FYI, if the cuddling is the best part, he didn't do it right." I love that line! Then he walks away. And at the very end of the episode the local police find a dead guy with Veronica's name written on his hand.
Cheatty Cheatty Bang Bang: Veronica and Duncan join a little group in school called the 'future business leaders of America'. Logan and his buddies are also in the class. Veronica and Duncan sit close together and are being cute, which makes Logan say loudly that he's lost his appetite. Later after school, Logan's friend Beaver asks Veronica to do a job for him. He says he knows his stepmother is cheating on his dad, and he wants her to prove it. She agrees, and rigs up a camera in the stepmother's ipod that will take periodic pictures. In the crashed school bus story line, Veronica finds out that the dead guy with her name on his hand was an auto mechanic. She goes to his old work to look at his stuff, and she finds a picture of the guy with Aaron Echolls. (Freaky!) Back in school, Veronica and Duncan go to the Business Leaders class again, and Logan moves over a seat, so that the two of them can sit together, but he shows that he is irritated as he does it. The teacher is talking about his investments and about how he is going to retire as soon as his boat gets finished. Duncan shows a little interest in the boat, and the teacher says they had to reseal the hull twice. Logan pipes up with "You didn't plug her right the first time, huh?" As he's saying it, he looks at Veronica. Duncan can't stand it anymore, and leaps out of his chair to tackle Logan. The fighting continues into the hall where Duncan slams Logan into the wall of lockers. Then Logan swings a punch, and both of them go down to the floor to fight some more. Next we cut to the nurses office. She is putting some medication on Duncan's knuckles, and Logan is sitting on the end of the bed next to them. Both Duncan and Logan have bloody knuckles, and Duncan has a bloody nose while Logan has what will be a bruise on the side of his face. The nurse says, "Whoever the girl is, I doubt she'll be impressed." Neither boy says anything. Soon the nurse says she's done with Duncan, and that the principal is waiting for him. The nurse walks off presumably to get more supplies, and Duncan starts to head out too. Logan says he thinks the nurse is wrong, and that Veronica would probably be happy about, and maybe even turned on, by them fighting. Duncan tells Logan to get over it. He says that he didn't steal Veronica from him. Logan gets up and yells that Veronica has nothing to do with it. He says she's in the 'rear view mirror'. He says that all summer things were really bad for him, and that Duncan who used to be his best friend was no where to be seen. Duncan gets up in Logan's face and says that had to do with the fact that "Your father killed my sister." Logan is silent. Duncan turns to go. Then as he gets to the door Logan says quietly, "I hate him too you know." Duncan pauses and looks unhappy with the whole conversation, and he seems to know Logan has a point. Duncan leaves, and the nurse starts putting medicine on Logan's hand as Logan tears up. The nurse asks him if it stings. He doesn't reply. (I loved this scene.) Later Veronica gets the pictures back from the stepmother's ipod, and shows them to Beaver. While Veronica is away for a second Beaver finds the pictures of Logan with his stepmom. He takes the ipod, and runs before Veronica can stop him. She goes to the computer to see the picture of a half-naked Logan that is still on her screen. She tries to call Logan, but he's not answering his phone. We cut to Logan who is sleeping with the stepmother again! Veronica gets in her car and heads to Logan's place. When she gets there she rings the bell but no one answers. She sees Logan's car, and walks in. She goes to Logan's room and can see it is a bit of a mess, Logan comes out of the bathroom in a towel. Veronica asks him if his girlfriend is still there. Logan asks her to be more specific (Oh please). Veronica says she's referring to the stepmother. Logan says she's not a girlfriend, just a 'playmate'. Veronica asks what Logan would do if she had been the woman's husband. Logan doesn't have much of an answer. Veronica is upset and gets sarcastic. She tells him his 'rich kid with a death wish' routine is cliched. She says she used to feel sorry for him, but now she thinks he brings these things down on himself. Then she tells him to lock his doors and storms out. Logan says something snippy as she leaves. As she is leaving she sees a poster in the hallway. It is a poster for one of Aaron's movies. Veronica remembers that one big scene in the movie is about a semi truck going over the edge, and she sees that the mechanic's name is on the poster as the stunt coordinator. She gets freaked out. She goes to Duncan and says the bus crash was meant for her, and all those people died because of her. In the end of the show we see Beaver showing the pictures of Logan and the stepmother to his father. Then the father asks how he got the pictures. Beaver says he hired someone. The dad gets very upset upon hearing that Beaver hired a private investigator, and starts collecting some files. He flees the office while telling people to start shredding papers. Turns out his business was not on the up and up, and Veronica reported him.
Green Eyed Monster: Logan's not in this one much. Veronica finds out that Duncan has been visiting his ex girlfriend in the hospital (she was the only survivor of the bus crash, and is in a coma). And she finds out that a phone call was made from Logan's house a few nights after the bus crash. That call went to Weevil. Weevil says it was an anonymous tip for him that 'Curly' (The stunt coordinator for Aaron's movie) was the reason for the bus crash, but that he didn't believe it to be true. Veronica finds Logan near the end of the episode and asks him about that night, and the phone call. He gets snippy, but then she explains about the connection between Aaron and Curly. Logan suddenly remembers the date she had just given him. He had a huge party that night in honor of the people who died on the bus crash, so it could have been anyone.
Blast from the Past: The school is nominating students to be 'king' and 'queen' of the Homecoming dance. Someone in Logan's class nominates Veronica, and Logan has snippy comments for everyone. The girl sitting in front of him when he makes them is named Jackie. Jackie is Wallace's girlfriend. (Wallace is Veronica's best friend, and helps her with cases all the time, which Jackie doesn't really like). Anyway, Jackie thinks Logan is amusing. After school we see Duncan waiting by his car. As soon as Logan walks by Duncan comes out and says hi to him. Then Duncan asks him if he wants to get together in a few days. Logan looks surprised, and a little anxious, but does want to. They make plans to have dinner and play video games at Duncan's place. Later it shows Logan over at Duncan's place, and Logan seems really happy to have his friend back, so that's nice for a change. Veronica during the episode is trying to bring down a TV psychic, and goes on her show to do it. While there, the psychic tells Veronica that Lilly has a message for her. She says Veronica should have stayed away from her boyfriend. Veronica is stunned, and then we cut to Logan and Duncan who are watching the show take place. Neither one knows what to say. Later at the dance we see Duncan and Veronica dancing. They look happy. Wallace finds out that Jackie had set Veronica up on the psychic show, and refuses to go to the dance with her. Then we see Jackie, who has taken some pills before coming to the dance, and is a little unsteady on her feet, trying to dance with Logan. Logan isn't into the dance, and is trying to keep his hands off her. Veronica sees this and runs to pull the two of them apart. She yells at Jackie not to hurt Wallace. Jackie yells at Veronica to make up her mind a pick a guy. And wants to know how many guys she wants all to herself (Meaning Duncan, Logan, and Wallace). Logan looks uncomfortable, but Duncan seems oddly unfazed. Wallace has been having lots of issues of his own, and this seems to be the last straw. He decides to leave town with his newly found biological father.
