PLANNING HIS REVENGE

Spencer Reid hadn't spoken to me in weeks. Oh, he talked during the time in the bullpen when we were discussing a case, or out in the field, but I mean really talked to me. Anytime I tried to start a conversation, he excused himself and left the room. This all started after Emily returned to us, and Spencer realized Emily and I had lied to him about her death. We had lied to everyone, actually, except for Hotch, but Spence took it personally. I understood why; he had come over to my house night after night, crying on my shoulder. He really missed Emily, like she was his big sister. I hated having to lie to him about it, but I had to. Now, I was the object of his embarrassment and anger.

This morning I went out of my way to catch him in the break room. "Hi, Spence, how are you this morning?"

He was stirring his coffee and didn't look right at me, but did give me one of his wry smiles. "I'm fine, thank you." He started to push past me, but I stopped him with my hand on his slim arm.

"Spencer, please! C'mon! Accept my apology and forgive me!"

Now intense brown eyes stared at me. "JJ, you lied to me. Wouldn't it just have been easier to tell me the truth, than having me go through that? Did you think I couldn't keep a secret? That way I wouldn't have had to be over at your house all the time." His usually friendly face took on an ugly sneer. "Maybe that was the plan, though, huh? To see me acting like a fool, a grown man crying?"

"No! Of course not!"

"You know what, JJ? I'm not so sure." He brushed past me and headed for the bullpen and my moment was lost.

Straightening up my desk at the end of the day, I noticed Spencer leaning against my office doorway.

"Spence? What's up? Did you need something?"

He closed my door, walked around to the right hand side of my desk, and leaned against the edge, most of his back to me. His arms were crossed and he wasn't smiling.

"I've been thinking. What you and Emily did to me was an injustice to our friendship. Now I'm seeking justice. I can't fake somebody's death, so that is out. I don't want to say cruel things or punch you to make you cry. So I have a plan." He scooted back so he was sitting fully on the side of my desk. "Come here." He held out his hand like he was helping me up. I was confused by what he meant, but I took his hand anyway and stood up. He tugged me over his lap and secured me with his left arm. Suddenly I realized what was about to happen.

"Spencer! No! Wait!" I tried to struggle loose, forgetting that no matter how skinny Spencer Reid might be, he was stronger than he looked.

"I've made sure we are the last two people in the building, so nobody else will hear or see us. This is my revenge, JJ. Me getting my justice."

With that, he began to apply stinging slaps to my backside. The position he had me in had my slacks stretched tight across my butt, making every hit burn. Reid has huge hands, and he wasn't holding back. He never said a word, just kept smacking away. I tried to get away, but he held me securely. I couldn't help the yips and yelps that slipped out as he made sure to cover every inch of my upturned bottom. After a while the pain became too much to bear, and I began to cry and plead with him.

"Please stop! Spencer, please! Ow, ooh, that hurts! I'm sorry, I'm soooo sorry!"

He sped up the spanking and gave me about another ten spanks, and then stopped. Spencer tilted me upright and gathered me into his arms. He cuddled me, running his warm hand up and down my back, as I blubbered into his chest.

"I'm sorry, Spencer! They made me do it! I never wanted to lie to you!"

I could hear the smile in his voice when he answered. "It's over now, JJ. All is forgiven. We're even now, my friend. Come on, I'll walk you out."

I pulled back from him, wiping my eyes, and getting control of myself. "It's ok. I'm not ready to leave yet. You go ahead, I'll see you tomorrow." He gave me one of his shy, but dazzling smiles and nodded.

On his way to the elevator, I heard a door open down the hall, and Hotch's voice call out.

"Dr. Reid? I need to see you in my office. Now."
